Straatman engineers are on the move

Recently, our engineering team conducted inspections and maintenance at two key mooring projects.

In the USA, our colleague Thijs inspected and provided training on the quick release mooring hooks we delivered last year. These wireless hooks are installed on a barge transporting monopiles for wind turbines, improving safety and efficiency.

At an offshore FLNG facility, our engineers calibrated and inspected quick release hooks with load monitoring and remote release control, ensuring the safe mooring of the FPSO.

First-line support is now available in the USA

Last week, Courtland Roberts, a technical sales representative from our US agent J.H. Menge, visited our headquarters in Zwijndrecht for a comprehensive training program on our Quick Release Mooring Hooks. This training will enable J.H. Menge to provide first-line support and direct maintenance and inspections for our US customers, saving them time and money.

Our team completed the commissioning of our quick release mooring hooks project at an Iron Terminal in Western Australia !

Efficient In-hook Loadcell Calibration LNG berth Malaysia

Our recent project with Petronas involved the calibrating of the Mooring Load Monitoring Systems on their LNG Berth in Malaysia, equipped with Strainstall Quick Release Mooring Hooks.

In line with our takeover agreement with Strainstall three years ago, our engineers conducted a comprehensive inspection and verification of the current status of the Load Monitoring Systems. Post-verification, faulty load cells, and amplifiers were replaced to ensure the full berth was calibrated and operational again.

Quick Release Mooring Hooks with so-called hauling-in trolleys

At Straatman, we have all the expertise to meet special requirements of our clients. We recently have manufactured multiple 60T Quick Release Mooring Hooks with so-called hauling-in trolleys for a client in India. These trolleys, designed, manufactured, and tested in our factory in Zwijndrecht, will be used to haul in ships on a dry dock for the Indian Navy.

Commissioning mooring project LNG Terminal Santos

For commissioning and training of our complete mooring system for the new built LNG Terminal de Regaseificação de São Paulo (TRSP), our engineers went to the city of Santos, São Paulo in Brazil. The terminal will accommodate the floating vessel “Höegh Giant”.
