Delivery of SafeCom SSL

Two Small-Scale SafeCom Ship-to-Shore Link (SSL) systems are heading to a client in South America, equipped with 5-pin SIGTTO connectors. Designed for both terminal and Floating Storage Unit (FSU) sides, these systems ensure seamless and secure oil and chemical transfers.

Each SSL system comes with smart pushbuttons and an intuitive interface, enabling easy operation and smooth switching between supplier and receiver modes. With compliance to SIGTTO standards, the 5-pin connector guarantees reliable ESD signal communication between vessels and terminals, enhancing safety and efficiency.

Last week, we shipped a custom-made quick-release ball joint to our valued client Damen. This specialized equipment is destined for a mining vessel off the coast of South Africa, where it will play a crucial role in deep-sea operations for one of the world's largest diamond traders.

Straatman engineers are on the move

Recently, our engineering team conducted inspections and maintenance at two key mooring projects.

In the USA, our colleague Thijs inspected and provided training on the quick release mooring hooks we delivered last year. These wireless hooks are installed on a barge transporting monopiles for wind turbines, improving safety and efficiency.

At an offshore FLNG facility, our engineers calibrated and inspected quick release hooks with load monitoring and remote release control, ensuring the safe mooring of the FPSO.

Straatman has successfully commissioned the complete mooring system at Germany's brand-new Mukran LNG Terminal! Located at the Port of Mukran on Rügen Island, this terminal is a key player in Germany's energy transition, helping to power the country while reducing reliance on Russian natural gas.
