Straatman engineers are on the move

Recently, our engineering team conducted inspections and maintenance at two key mooring projects.

In the USA, our colleague Thijs inspected and provided training on the quick release mooring hooks we delivered last year. These wireless hooks are installed on a barge transporting monopiles for wind turbines, improving safety and efficiency.

At an offshore FLNG facility, our engineers calibrated and inspected quick release hooks with load monitoring and remote release control, ensuring the safe mooring of the FPSO.

Big news from Mukran

Straatman has successfully commissioned the complete mooring system at Germany's brand-new Mukran LNG Terminal! Located at the Port of Mukran on Rügen Island, this terminal is a key player in Germany's energy transition, helping to power the country while reducing reliance on Russian natural gas.

Last week, Courtland Roberts, a technical sales representative from our US agent J.H. Menge, visited our headquarters in Zwijndrecht for a comprehensive training program on our Quick Release Mooring Hooks. This training will enable J.H. Menge to provide first-line support and direct maintenance and inspections for our US customers, saving them time and money.

Port in Africa embraces innovation with Smart Bollard

Our colleagues Maarten and Matthijs are currently at this important African port, for productive discussions regarding installing our innovative Smart Bollard technology at their port. The Smart Bollard is a high-tech solution designed to enhance safety and efficiency in port operations. These advanced bollards have sensors that continuously monitor the load on mooring lines. 

Commissioning of mooring hooks project Iron Terminal Australia

Our team completed the commissioning of our quick release mooring hooks project at an Iron Terminal in Western Australia !

After a 32-hour flight journey, our engineers arrived and got everything up and running smoothly. These mooring hooks we delivered to the client last year are now fully operational.

Production of quick release ball joint ø800

We can’t look into a crystal ball, but when we build it from steel we can make some predictions.

Like for this quick release ball joint ø800, which we finished last week after a successful final acceptance test with our client. This special ball joint will be used on an advanced diamond recovery vessel, and we predict it will be there for a long time😉
