Our GMH-type quick release mooring hooks are frequently used on mooring buoys. Standardly, they come with a rope keeper to ward off unintentional release of mooring lines, especially during significant wave actions. These hooks are typically supplied as single units, designed for perfect integration into the buoy's framework. However, multi-hook assemblies are also available.
The GMH standard mooring hook is crafted for ease of use, even when at its maximum Safe Working Load (SWL). It includes a two-step release mechanism to prevent unexpected detachments. Each of our quick-release mooring hooks can be reset simply with a twisting motion. Rubber blocks are in place to temper the energy upon release.
Our quick-release buoy hooks cover a spectrum of capacities, ranging from 40 to 200 tonnes (SWL per hook).
Utilising a mooring hook on a buoy has its challenges, notably in challenging weather or if the quick release is initiated under pressure. Prioritising the safety of mooring operators, our products are carefully constructed, featuring elements like the two-step release and shock-absorbing rubber blocks.
