Our GMH-type quick release mooring hooks are commonly utilised on mooring buoys. As standard, they are equipped with a rope keeper to prevent mooring lines from accidentally detaching, particularly during significant wave activity. These hooks are typically sold as individual units, specifically designed to integrate into the buoy's structure, but multi-hook configurations are also available.
The GMH standard mooring hook is designed for simplicity and ease of use, even at its maximum Safe Working Load (SWL). It incorporates a two-step release mechanism to prevent unintended disengagements. All our quick-release mooring hooks can be reset with a simple rotation. Upon activation, rubber blocks are utilised to absorb the energy impact.
Our quick-release buoy hooks are available in various capacities, ranging from 40 to 200 tonnes (SWL per hook).
Utilising a mooring hook on a buoy presents risks, especially during adverse weather conditions or if the quick release is engaged while under tension.
