The GMH-type quick release mooring hooks are a common choice for mooring buoys. Standard configurations include a rope keeper to ensure that mooring lines do not inadvertently slip during wave disturbances. While these hooks are often sold as standalone units intended for incorporation into the buoy structure, multi-hook configurations are also available.
The GMH standard mooring hook is designed for ease of use, even at its maximum Safe Working Load (SWL). It incorporates a two-step release mechanism to mitigate accidental openings. Each of our quick-release mooring hooks can be reset with a straightforward rotation, and rubber blocks are integrated to cushion the energy upon release.
These quick-release buoy hooks are offered in capacities ranging from 40 to 200 tonnes (SWL per hook).
The deployment of a mooring hook on a buoy presents inherent risks, accentuated in challenging weather or when the quick release is initiated under tension. Our product design prioritizes the safety of mooring operators, with features such as the two-step release mechanism and energy-absorbing rubber blocks.
Our advanced telemetry system provides port operators the capability to oversee mooring buoys from a distance, thereby enhancing safety measures.
