In December 2019 we finished commissioning and did a successful site acceptance test for our Solar Systems and Quick Release Mooring Hooks in the Port of Amsterdam. On 8 mono piles in the Buitenspuikanaal in IJmuiden our solar systems and quick release hooks are now in use to the satisfaction of the port operators.
The dolphins are equipped with Straatman's double and quadruple 150 tons quick release hooks. The solar systems will power the integrated capstans to guarantee safe berthing. Solar power instead of power cables was a logical step for the port authority after they noticed the quality, reliability and more over the sustainability of Straatman's solar systems in the port of Rotterdam and Hamburg.
Normal power cables to mono piles are often damaged by anchors or during dredging activities. This can and will result in downtime of berths, financial losses and high costs for repair. That makes our solar solution a perfect alternative, which is proven in practice meanwhile. Over the last years we have supplied many solar systems in The Netherlands, Ghana, Indonesia and Germany.
With a well-filled order book we are heading up to 150 solar systems! We are proud to announce that Straatman is awarded with a Solar System order from South America.
We are highly gratified to be market leader for this unique autonomous power systems.
