Berthing Aid System

The Straatman Berthing Aid System, often referred to as the Docking Aid System, leverages cutting-edge laser and LED tech. This system determines the gap between the jetty and an incoming ship's side with laser precision. The data, which includes distance (for both Bow and Aft), approach speed, and angle, can be viewed on a typical computer and on a sizeable LED screen. Moreover, this LED screen displays vital metrics such as wind speed, tidal currents, wave conditions, and other crucial details for secure mooring.

How does the Berthing Aid System work?

Lasers determine the distance between the jetty and the flank of an oncoming ship. This data is showcased prominently on a jetty-attached screen and within the control centre. The LED screen tech is courtesy of our partner enterprise, FactoryLab.

We offer a range of supplementary features, like wireless tablet connectivity and advanced pager systems. Given our comprehensive system expertise is housed under one roof, we guarantee adaptability and an abundance of bespoke options for our clients. Should you have specific project needs, we're all ears and ready to rise to the occasion.
