Major winch project for Platform Supply Vessels

Kraaijeveld Winches is working on a major deck equipment project for eight Platform Supply Vessels, together with our Brazilian partner Sotreq. The project includes the supply of several types of winch systems and related deck equipment. Deliveries will take place in batches of two vessels, starting in early 2026 and continuing until mid-2027.

This new order follows earlier successful deliveries in 2024 and 2025. It is a strong continuation of an ongoing project and shows the need for reliable winch equipment in demanding offshore operations.

Kraaijeveld equips each Platform Supply Vessel with a complete package of heavy-duty deck equipment. Kraaijeveld will supply one electric/hydraulically driven anchor winch with two chain wheels and warping heads. This anchor winch supports safe and controlled anchor handling operations. The combination of electric and hydraulic drive offers strong performance and reliable operation on board. In addition, each vessel will receive two chain stoppers for 50 millimetre anchor chains. These chain stoppers support safe chain handling and help secure the anchor chain during operations. The scope also includes two hydraulically driven capstans of 5 tonnes for each vessel. The crew can use these capstans to pull and position lines on deck. They offer the strength needed for daily marine operations.

Tugger winches for controlled deck work

Kraaijeveld will also supply two electrically driven tugger winches of 6 tonnes for each vessel. The frequency drive gives each tugger winch controlled speed and accurate handling. These tugger winches support safe and efficient movement of loads and lines on deck.

First deliveries and commissioning

The first delivery for two vessels took place in May 2026. Kraaijeveld plans the next delivery for the end of June 2026. After delivery, Kraaijeveld service engineers will travel to Brazil for the commissioning of the winches on board the vessels.
