From Construction to Coating

We have completed another beautiful project for one of our clients. It involves the construction, welding, and preservation of 4 special frames for solar panels. All specialties of Straatman Dredging and Construction were involved in this cool project.

Construction Work

Entirely based on our customer’s design, supplemented with smart detailed engineering from our project engineer, we manufactured the complete constructions. From material delivery, cutting parts, and folding work to assembling and welding the frames.

Coating

These special frames, which will be exposed to maritime conditions, are completely hot-dip galvanized and finally provided with multi-layer conservation by wet painting. This is called a so-called duplex system, which falls under the highest form of protection. We can also take care of this entirely at Straatman Dredging & Construction in any desired color.

Powder Coating

For this project, we were also allowed to powder coat some loose parts. Namely, so-called radar reflectors made of aluminum. For this, we applied a special powder coating system, which consists of multiple layers. For aluminum components that are used outdoors, we use polyester powders that are of course TGIC- and lead-free. These powder coatings are specifically formulated for application on aluminum profiles and panels.
