Straatman Dredging & Construction did not just develop bow couplings. We invented them. Back in our Van den Graaf days, we introduced the first bow coupling to the market. Since then, the system has become the global standard in dredging operations. Today, our design is used worldwide by leading dredging contractors.

Proven solution for efficient dredging

The Straatman bow coupling enables a fast and secure connection between hopper dredgers and floating pipelines. As a result, operators can work more efficiently during beach nourishment and land reclamation projects. The system reduces connection time and improves operational continuity. Therefore, it plays a key role in large-scale dredging projects. With more than 175 bow couplings delivered worldwide, our design has proven its reliability in demanding conditions.

Recent projects and deliveries

We continue to innovate and deliver new systems for clients worldwide. Recently, we completed a full Ø400 bow installation. Although compact, this system delivers strong and reliable performance. In addition, we delivered a new Ø1000 bow coupling to DEME. The system will be used on the TSHD Pearl River, supporting efficient dredging operations.

Strong pipeline of upcoming projects

Looking ahead, several new projects are already in progress. We will soon start production of a Ø650 bow installation for Jan De Nul, scheduled for delivery in September 2025. At the same time, we are developing two additional systems for the same client:

• A Ø1000 bow coupling
• A Ø900 bow coupling

Both systems are planned for delivery in April.
