Quick release ball joints

You are here: Home Dredging equipmentQuick release ball joints

The great advantage of this ball joint type is an easy and quick connection / disconnection of a floating pipeline or hose, mostly used between a floating pipeline and cutter suction dredger or pontoon.

Quick release ball joints

The female part of the quick release ball joint (also known as pinch ball joint) is positioned on the dredger or pontoon and male part is connected to the floating pipeline or hose. The quick release ball joint can be operated by hydraulic cylinders. For the smaller sizes our quick release ball joints optionally can be operated manually.

Construction

The quick release ball joint exists of three main parts: female part, male part and retaining ring. The retaining ring couples the male part in the female part. The retaining ring is executed in 2 parts and is hinging in the female part.

Technical specifications

For inside pipe diameters : ø 300 – ø 1.100 mm.
Max. swivel angle male part : 20° (standard)
Max. operating pressure : 6 – 45 Bar

Quick release ball joints options

In addition to the wide range of standard designs, we can offer our quick release ball joints with the following options:

  • hydraulic operation;
  • higher operation pressures;
  • deviating swivel angles;
  • (wear resistant) liners;
  • exchangeable liners;
