In the early 1980s, Straatman introduced an innovation that changed the dredging industry. Our engineers developed the Bow Coupling<\/a>, a system that quickly became a standard in dredging operations. Since then, the distinctive design and proven reliability of the Straatman Bow Coupling have become well known worldwide. Many dredging vessels still operate with systems based on this original concept. Although the design may look familiar, the technology behind it has continuously evolved over the decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Introducing our upgraded bow coupling design<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Straatman recently introduced an upgraded bow coupling design. The latest example is a \u00d8900 male part, delivered to DEME for one of their dredging projects. This new design builds on the proven technology used in the \u00d81000 \u2013 30 bar bow couplings. Our engineers have now successfully applied these improvements to the 900 series. The upgrade increases reliability and simplifies maintenance without changing the proven operating principle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
