Straatman recently commissioned a new mooring system at Eemshaven, located in the north of the Netherlands. The installation supports the new mooring dolphins designed for the offshore installation vessel Les Aliz\u00e9s. Les Aliz\u00e9s, operated by Jan De Nul, plays a key role in offshore renewable energy projects. The vessel installs large offshore wind turbine foundations and other heavy offshore structures. Reliable mooring infrastructure is essential to support these operations safely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quick Release Mooring Hooks installed<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Straatman engineers travelled to the site to commission the installed mooring equipment. The installation includes three single 75-ton Quick Release Mooring Hooks <\/a>with integrated capstans<\/a>. These hooks secure the vessel safely during port operations. At the same time, they allow fast and controlled release when required. The capstans assist crews during mooring line handling. This improves both safety and operational efficiency at the berth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Solar-powered mooring systems<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

All installed systems operate on solar power<\/a>. This solution provides a reliable energy supply without requiring a traditional electrical connection. Solar-powered systems are ideal for remote mooring dolphins and offshore-style berths. They reduce infrastructure requirements and support sustainable port development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supporting offshore renewable energy<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The new mooring dolphins at Eemshaven allow the port to accommodate specialised offshore installation vessels such as Les Aliz\u00e9s. With this project, Straatman contributes to the development of port infrastructure that supports offshore renewable energy projects.
