Solar powered mini capstans

We engineer and manufacture custom designed capstans in any shape and size. For this project we were asked to provide a winching solution for a remote and powerless area. Our off grid solar powered system provides the required energy for a 1.5kW capstan, giving it a hauling speed of ±15m/min and a running pull capacity of 500kg!

Our mooring and dredging expertise combined

A couple of years ago we used our expertise to design remotely operated 250 tons quick release hooks, equipped with a solar powered hydraulic powerpack. These are used by a mega cutter suction dredger on their left and right anchor line pontoons, for safe deployment and operation. The lines are used to move the ship in a left-to-right motion, sweeping their dredging work along the sea or river bed.

Calandkanaal mooring project ready for installation

After a lot of hard work in the last months of last year, we are happy to inform you that we have successfully completed the assembly and testing of the 24 ATEX and Safe Area solar systems for the expansion of the berths 81 and 82 in the Calandkanaal, Port of Rotterdam. All systems were completely tested in our factory to ensure a smooth and efficient installation on site coming April 2022.

The first of 14 transports has just left our factory in Zwijndrecht, delivering a large solar and mooring hook project to the Port of Rotterdam.

Straatman wins order for Quebrada Blanca Phase 2

Last week we signed the contract to supply several Quick Release Hooks, Load Monitoring, Solar and 4G Telemetry systems. All the systems will be installed on buoys, which accommodate safe mooring for vessels for this Copper mine.

The complete system will be explosion proof, and is due to be delivered Q1 2022.

System integration challenge succesfully completed

For one of our customers in the oil market we have completely designed, engineered and manufactured a solar telemetry system for their thirteen mooring buoys. Each buoy will have one solar power system and two quick release mooring hooks.

Solar power systems to power beam lights and nautical lights

With our extended experience in applying our Solar-powered and remote monitored systems, we can really provide for any situation. For this project, our customer has asked us to deliver a reliable, robust and durable Solar system to power a Beam light and, more importantly, a Nautical light in ATEX Zone 1 environment. 

Straatman accepts order for Solar powered lighting poles

We are happy to announce that we accepted an order for the design, production and supply of 36 autonomous Solar powered lighting poles for the waiting area of a port in the south of the Netherlands.

A newly-built berthing area in the Elbe River is powered by nineteen solar panels. The panels provide power to quick-release mooring hook units with integrated capstans. Following the Port of Rotterdam, the Port of Hamburg is the second major port to opt for this sustainable solution.

Power buoy for Lekki Terminal Nigeria

Unloading petroleum from a ship to the oil handling storage facility onshore is a complicated process. To be able to do this, the ship can for example moor offshore and the oil can be transferred through pipelines between the offshore mooring facility and the onshore storage terminal.
