Our turning glands are designed to allow dredging pipes and their related components to rotate around their axis. As this is even possible under pressure and heavy conditions, our turning glands ensure more safety and better maneuverability. Besides the famous Straatman ball turning glands (BTG) we can produce straight turning glands as well.
Ball turning glands
The ball turning gland is mostly used at cutter suction dredgers (CSD) at the swan neck of the discharge pipe line.Biggest advantage of this application is that the CSD can turn freely around the axis of the ball turning gland, even under pressures which nowadays decrease up to 36 Bar.

- Turning angle : > 360°
- Operating pressure (single ball type): 10 – 36 Bar
